# Governance Education framework

Governance only works if people can understand it. The Governance Education Working Group ran from July 2025 to March 2026, under its own [charter](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1cnnQ-Xy5f3KqFNJcYh69kH9bA_4fAawDJz_O9nnMbrY/edit?usp=sharing), to make Cardano's governance learnable for DReps, SPOs and community members.

### The framework

The group produced the [Cardano Governance Education Framework](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1OdnXvIDGMpWOsk7O1NT2_SDoJZRF9MkA1FwMBARu-0U/edit?usp=sharing), now at version 2, developed through community workshops and expert review.

### Mapping, not duplicating

Rather than write new material and compete with what already existed, the group mapped the landscape. Community-submitted resources were scored against six criteria, accessibility, accuracy, adaptability, inclusivity, relevancy and empowerment, using a published [resource filtering framework](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1nlS7Wk6-52Y2d3yWVB-3r5NpbikdILWZ/edit?usp=sharing). Anything averaging 4.0 or above was approved for the knowledge base, with reviewer notes attached. The [resource database](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1--LJDJG0uL3gC0S_BJMezso1fBfVAw4nzlyvY3lafrc/edit?usp=sharing) records every assessment.

The database is maintained openly, with contribution recipes, so the community can keep adding to it rather than letting it decay once the working group closed (26 March 2026).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://civicscommittee.docs.intersectmbo.org/our-previous-work/governance-education-framework.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
